Bridge 2 Placement
Step 1 | Find a place near a power outlet You’ll need a 5V DC USB power adapter rated at least 5W. |
Step 2 | Keep it close to your lock For a reliable Bluetooth connection, place the Bridge as close to the lock as possible. The recommended maximum distance in line of sight is 5 metres for door locks, 4 metres for lock boxes, and 3 metres for padlocks. |
Step 3 | Linking more than one device If you’re linking several devices, place the Bridge about the same distance from each one, keeping every lock within its maximum range. |
Step 4 | Avoid obstructions and keep a clear line of sight. Walls and other physical barriers can reduce range, and metal can block the signal completely. Place the Bridge on a wall or tabletop clear of obstructions. If you put it inside a cabinet, choose one that radio signals can pass through easily. |
Mounting the Bridge 2
Attaching and Powering the Bridge 2
Step 1 | Attach the Bridge With the USB port facing down, place the Bridge onto the tabs on the base plate and twist it clockwise about 10 degrees until you hear a click. |
Step 2 | Plug in the power Plug the USB power cable into the Bridge and into your power adapter. |
Step 3 | Check the status LED The status LED turns solid white while the Bridge powers up, then glows orange. Glowing orange means it’s ready to pair. |
Installing the Network Adapter
Only for customers connecting through wired Ethernet. Important: connect the Ethernet cable BEFORE you power up the device.
Step 1 | Disconnect power To add the Network Adapter, first disconnect the USB-C power cable from the Bridge 2. |
Step 2 | Remove the base plate Turn the base plate counterclockwise to remove it and expose the connection pins. |
Step 3 | Attach the Network Adapter Insert the Network Adapter into the back of the Bridge 2 and rotate it about 10 degrees clockwise until it clicks. |
Step 4 | Mount onto the base plate With the connectors facing down, place the Network Adapter and Bridge onto the base plate tabs and twist clockwise about 10 degrees until it clicks. |
Step 5 | Connect the Ethernet cable Plug the Ethernet cable from your router into the Network Adapter from below. The network adapter's status light remains off until the USB-C cable is reconnected, at which point it should turn on immediately. |
Step 6 | Power the Bridge If your router or switch supports Power over Ethernet, the Network Adapter powers the Bridge and you won’t need the USB-C cable. If not, plug the USB power cable into the Bridge 2. When the status LED glows orange, it’s ready to pair. |
